meet the persian (and himalayan!) – cat show music video

Buy the single “Catitude” at iTunes! The show cats in this music video were shot at the TICA cat show at the Javits center on 11/20/11. When you see Persian or Himalayan kitties, you just have to pet them. They have full, beautiful coats, are very friendly, love attention, and are mellow. The black and and white Persian in this video was a funny cat, he would play for two seconds, get bored, then play again! If you enjoy this, [...]

meet the ragdoll! cat show music video

Buy the single “Daybreak” at iTunes! The show cats in this music video were shot at the TICA cat show at the Javits center on 11/20/11. What is a Ragdoll cat? They’re a cat breed that originated in California in the 1960s, deriving from Birman and Persian cats, possibly Burmese as well. They are semi-longhaired, very friendly, and mellow. The name derives from their tendency to go limp when held. (They don’t all do this.) If you enjoy this, keep [...]

Super-cuteness: tiny kitten loves his chihuahua!

When Chihuahuas aren’t on hyperdrive, and they are settling down to sleep, they sort of remind me of cats. Obviously, this tiny kitten feels perfectly at peace with his chihuahua friend, and vice versa. Enjoy, and please comment or share!

Unusual companions: little monkey adopts orange kitten

At first I was a little concerned that the monkey might have evil intentions, but after doing a little research, I discovered this type of monkey is an herbivore and he clearly just enjoys having the kitten as a companion. And the kitten doesn’t seem to mind! Pretty extraordinary. For more unusual companions, check out this video of a cheetah cub playing with a puppy!

Black and white kitty plays good cop/bad cop with black and white pit bull

This kitty is sending mixed messages. First she smacks him in the head, and then she licks him, just as relentlessly. What’s, uh, the deal? The end result: she controls the relationship. I know pit bulls can be tough (usually because they’ve been poorly treated or mishandled by clueless owners) but this one’s got a real sweet nature. Enjoy, and please comment or share!

    Burmese cats guard newborn human

Baby girl Erin has two furry guardians, two gorgeous Blue Burmese cats. There used to be an untrue rumor about cats being dangerous around infants, that they would “steal their breath,” or some such nonsense. Exhibit A is this video, more proof that cats are a great gift to the world. Enjoy, and please comment or share!

Birman kittens go crazy for the laser

These seven-week old kittens are pretty freakin’ cute and love chasing the laser. After awhile though they realize they can’t catch it (Birmans are smart) and start wrestling. Their mom makes a cameo appearance. Birman kittens are born white and develop their coloring later. Very nice HD quality and it’s nice that the camera is on the floor at the kittens’ level. Enjoy, and please comment or share!

    Ideal Companion: the Manx cat

Manx cats are very popular in England but slightly less so here in the U.S. There are other breeds with no tail or very stubby tails, but the Manx has a particular look – very rounded. They are very affectionate, calm, intelligent cats. This video features a breeder discussing the finer points of Manx cats. Enjoy, and please comment or share!
